Frequently Asked Questions
Plasma-Powered Formula
Plasma has been used to support animal health for over 40 years and is backed by more than 300 published university studies. It's the liquid portion of blood, and it's loaded with functional proteins — including immunoglobulins like IgG and IgA — that help regulate the immune system and support a normal inflammatory response throughout the body.
What separates plasma from most supplements is how it gets delivered. Plasma proteins survive the digestive process and circulate through the bloodstream, reaching the areas that need support most — not just the gut. Farmers figured this out decades ago when using plasma to keep working animals healthy and performing. WINPRO brings that same approach to your dog or cat.
Most pet supplements work by delivering nutrients through the digestive tract. They're designed to support one system and stay there. The plasma in WINPRO circulates through the body, helping support a normal inflammatory response wherever it's needed.
Because our pets experience daily spikes in inflammation from seasonal allergies, digestive upset, or aging joints, supporting the inflammatory response is a powerful way to help them.
Our plasma comes from porcine (pig) blood left over from the pork industry here in the American Midwest. Rather than letting that go to waste, it's collected from USDA-inspected facilities, carefully fractionated, and spray-dried at high temperatures into the powder that goes into our products. We're proud to take a byproduct and do something meaningful with it.
The spray-drying process also matters for a practical reason: it's what allows the proteins to survive your pet's digestive system so they can actually get to work.
Yes. Our plasma is sourced from USDA-inspected facilities in the American Midwest, and our products are manufactured here in the USA with some globally sourced ingredients. We source ingredients domestically whenever possible.
Safety & Regulations
WINPRO products are made with natural ingredients. Plasma itself is a substance that already exists in your pet's blood. That said, some animals can be sensitive to specific ingredients, so if your dog or cat has known sensitivities, take a look at the ingredient list on each product page before starting. If you have concerns, your vet is always the right call.
All WINPRO products are approved by the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC), which operates under FDA oversight. We're also recommended by veterinarians and sold in many vet clinics across the country! If you have specific health concerns about your pet, we always recommend a conversation with your vet.
Our products are safe to use any time after weaning, but we recommend checking with your veterinarian. They'll be able to advise based on your pup's age, size, and overall health.
In most cases, yes. WINPRO products are generally safe to use alongside other supplements and medications. We always recommend checking with your veterinarian, especially if your pet is on a prescription medication.
It depends on the diet. Our products contain porcine (pork-derived) plasma, so if your dog is on a pork-free or novel protein diet, that's worth knowing upfront. The full ingredient list for every product is on its product page. Share that with your vet, and they'll be able to tell you whether it's a good fit.
No soy in any of our products, and no beef except for 2 of our special products called PlaVET+ that are only available in veterinarian offices. A couple of products do contain chicken: our Hip & Joint formula includes chicken-sourced balanced collagen, and our Cat Dental Bites include chicken liver powder. You can find the complete ingredient list for every product on its product page.
They'll lose the benefits of plasma within a few days. WINPRO works best with consistent daily use. If you stop and notice a difference, that's usually a good sign it was doing its job!
It's unlikely they'll get sick, but give your vet a heads up and keep an eye on them for a day or two just to be safe.
Daily Amounts & Using WINPRO
For all soft chew dog products (Allergy, Hip & Joint, Gut Health, Calming, Recovery, and Daily Care):
- Dogs under 20 lbs: 1 soft chew
- Dogs 20–60 lbs: 2 soft chews
- Dogs over 60 lbs: 3 soft chews
Give them in the morning — the formula works best throughout the day when your dog is most active. For the Meal Topper and Dental Stix, you'll find the recommended amount on each product page and on the packaging.
It varies. Some dogs and cats show a difference in about a week. Others need 4–5 weeks of consistent daily use. We recommend giving any WINPRO product a full 30 days before deciding whether it's the right fit.
Yes! All of our formulas work very well together and can even amplify the plasma effect when used together. Many of our customers use two or three products at once! For example, Allergy and Gut Health work very well together as our Advanced Allergy Bundle, or Hip & Joint is often used alongside Daily Care.
They do, and preventative use is one of the smartest ways to use our products. For dogs 4–5 years and older, we recommend starting Hip & Joint before stiffness becomes an issue. For any dog at any age, our Daily Care chews are a solid foundation for daily immune health and overall health support.
It depends on your dog's size. Most canisters are a 20–60 day supply. You'll find the exact supply length for your dog's size on each product page or you can do the math by looking at the recommended daily amount on the back of the canister.
The chews stay fresh until the expiration date printed on the bottom of the canister, as long as you keep the lid sealed between uses and keep the product at room temperature. If left open for extended periods, soft chews can dry out and harden.
Most dogs take to the soft chews right away. For picky ones, try tucking the chew into a small piece of food they love — that usually does the trick. Or, you can try to cut the chew up into small pieces and mix it in with their meal. Cats can take a little longer to warm up to something new, which is normal. Give it a few days. If it still isn't working, our money-back guarantee has you covered.
