The Foundation of WINPRO
Most people have never heard about animal blood proteins or any of the related benefits. And neither did WINPRO Founder Bill Bernardo until nearly 2012. While working for ACP, Inc., the worlds leading producer of functional proteins, Bill’s interest in the uses of animal blood proteins soared. Backed by over 300 worldwide university studies dating back to the 1980s, Bill was quickly convinced that blood proteins worked.
With an aging yellow lab at home and a background in the pet space, Bill decided to develop a pet supplement, using his years of experience in both the meat and blood protein industries, taking the leap and creating WINPRO, the first blood protein pet supplement company to hit the market.
At first, Bill created WINPRO products for his own dogs (he currently has four!) who were showing the effects of old age and the inflammation-related health problems it brings. With the support of his family– also all dog-lovers – Bill turned his confidence in scientific support behind blood proteins into the WINPRO products we know and love.
It's been an adventure and introducing a totally new science, product type and brand into the US pet space has been harder than anything else I've ever attempted. But it's all worthwhile when we get the testimonials from people telling us how we helped their dogs, gave them their puppy back, warded off one challenge after another. And my family has been in it 110% from the beginning so it's a labor of shared love and our passion for dogs.
